Solar Photovoltaics—Loan Participation

How it Works

1. For loan pre-approval with our financing partner, Velocity Credit Union, call (512) 469-7060 or toll free (800) 933-2029 (select Option #3) or apply online at www.velocitycu.com. Both services are available 24/7. Once you are approved, you may fax your completed loan application to (512) 225-9205.
2. Call one of our Participating Companies to request a proposal and bid for your solar energy system. The Participating Installers registered with Austin Energy and meet our requirements for workmanship and equipment. Loans are not provided for work performed by individuals and companies not registered with Austin Energy.
3. The cost of solar power varies depending on the size and specific installation conditions. The installer can estimate the amount of electricity you can expect from your system.
4. Complete your loan application. The installer will submit the completed application form to Velocity for you.
5. Austin Energy will review your proposed solar energy system design and bid. Your installer will schedule this review and sign-off. When approved, Austin Energy will fax your bid to Velocity. Generally, your installer delivers your closing documents to you. Or, you may request to receive the documents by mail from Velocity. 6. The solar energy installer completes the installation work.
7. After your solar energy system installation, the solar installer schedules a final inspection by an Austin Energy representative. This check assures proper installation of your system.
8. Austin Energy faxes the final inspection report to Velocity. Velocity mails a check for the completed and approved work to the contractor. Velocity mails a packet of monthly billing coupons to you.
