Refrigerator Recycling Details for Residential Customers

Recycling and replacing your old refrigerators with newer and more energy-efficient models benefits the environment and helps to keep electric rates down.

For a limited time, you can also receive a rebate by recycling your old refrigerators/freezers with Austin Energy.

Eligibility

	You must be an Austin Energy customer
	The refrigerator/freezer must be in working (cooling) condition
	The refrigerator/freezer must be 14-to-27 cubic feet in size
	You must own the appliance being recycled

Single-family home customers will receive $50 for each appliance turned in, for a maximum of two appliances per year.

	Complete the request form or call (800) 452-8685. Include your Austin Energy account number from the top left corner of your utility bill.
	Appliance Recycling Centers of America (ARCA) will contact you to schedule free pickup of your plugged in, working appliance at the account address.
	We will mail your rebate check within four to six weeks.

Funding is limited. Rebates are provided only to Austin Energy customers on a first-come, first-served basis.
