Is a Solar Energy System for You?
To begin your decision making process follow these steps:

1. Review the Solar Energy Candidate Checklist
   
2. Review the Solar Photovoltaics Guidelines
   This details offering requirements
3. Complete the Solar Energy Rebate Participation Form
   

Once we've received your form, an Austin Energy representative will contact you. The representative will schedule a preliminary survey of your property to determine rebate eligibility.

Select a Solar Energy Installer
Austin Energy will only provide rebates to customers who use a Participating Solar Energy Installer. As with any project, you may want to talk to multiple installers and receive several bids.

1. Select a Participating Solar Energy Installer from our Solar Rebate Participating Company List.
2. Schedule a review of your property and request bids—the installers will help determine any specific needs for your property.

Receive Rebate Approval Prior to Installation
To qualify for the solar rebate program, Austin Energy must approve your solar energy system project prior to installation.

1. Submit your rebate application (pdf)—your participating Solar Energy Installer will assist in the rebate application process
2. Wait for rebate approval—we will send you a Letter of Intent (LOI), which guarantees your rebate request for 120 days

Complete Your Solar Energy System Installation

1. A participating Solar Energy Installer will install your system—this will typically take two to three days for a home, and varies for commercial installations
2. Contact Austin Energy by e-mail or at (512) 482-5346 to schedule a final inspection.
   

An Austin Energy inspector will collect and verify project documentation. The rebate is usually issued within four (4) weeks.
