Thermal Energy Storage Incentive
and Rebate Information
Companies that install Thermal Energy Storage (TES) to shift chilled water production
for air conditioning to night hours can receive as much as $100,000 in rebates. This 100,000 is specific to TES and in addition to other rebates.
Austin Energy tiered the rebate formula to make smaller TES installations more attractive. In return, Austin Energy requires participating companies shift between 20% and 50% of on-peak summer demand or 2,500 kW, whichever is less.
