Commercial Green Building Program Rating
Austin Energy's Commercial Green Building Program rates all vertical mixed use, retail, office, and commercial use projects in Austin
Energy's service area. It also rates multi-family buildings of four or more stories.
How to Start
Start by taking time to become familiar with our Commercial Green Building Program Rating (xls). More detailed information can be found in our Guide to the Commercial Program Rating (pdf). AEGB has a separate Rating and Guidebook for Planned Unit Development (PUD). Design teams building in a PUD should contact AEGB to acquire the PUD Rating and Guidebook.
Then contact Austin Energy Green Building™as early as possible in your design process.
In order to receive a Rating, your project must meet a list of requirements. Among them, we require:
- An energy modeling analysis
- Proof the project is commissioned
- A construction waste management plan to divert recyclables from the landfill
During Construction
As construction proceeds, Austin Energy Green Building requires that you update your development’s rating at project milestones. We also require regular feedback, including updated copies of plans and specifications.
