Home Performance Testing Companies
The only way to be sure a home’s thermal envelope and heating and cooling system will safely perform as designed is to test them upon completion of construction. Austin Energy Green Building considers performance testing a critical measure of the success of a home’s design and construction. Meeting the standards set out in our official Home Performance Testing Form is required for all 4 and 5-star ratings. |

Manual J
Inputs
The 2000 International Energy Conservation Code, adopted by the State of Texas, requires that cooling equipment is sized by a Manual J or other
approved calculation. All projects seeking an Austin Energy Green Building rating are
required to submit HVAC system sizing calculations. These calculations must be
based on actual design, specifications and orientation of a project, appropriate
climate data, and other correct inputs. The following documents address common
input questions: Manual J Inputs
for Single-Family
and Manual J Inputs for Multi-Family. |
