The SnackMiser can reduce electricity use of non-refrigerated snack vending machines by more than 80%. A snack machine's lights and electronics typically draw 80 to 100 watts. This means a powered snack machine is equivalent to leaving an 80 to 100 watt light bulb on 24 hours a day, every day of the year. SnackMiser can operate stand alone or it can be a perfect companion to the VendingMiser™ or CoolerMiser™.

How SnackMiser Works
Using a passive infrared sensor, SnackMiser powers down a snack machine when it senses 15 minutes of inactivity in the area around the machine. For a bank of machines, SnackMiser utilizes a unique, embedded sensor repeater that allows it to be controlled from any other SnackMiser sensor in the bank.

SnackMiser's unique approach to power management has many advantages:

	Equipment is powered up when the user enters the area, and is powered down when the area is vacant. By keeping the machine's electronics powered off, unless the machine is needed, SnackMiser lengthens the expected lifetime of the equipment.
