Understanding Your Residential Bill

The City of Austin Customer Care Contact Center provides billing for all of your City of Austin utilities. Your bill includes charges for:

Utility Bill Charges
 Electric
 Water
 Wastewater
 Solid Waste
 Drainage/Street Service

Items on Bill
 PowerLink: Number assigned to represent your address when reporting a power outage.
 Account Number: Number you use when calling about your account. Include this number on checks and electronic payments. Be sure to include the numbers after the dash (—).
 Current Charges: Charges for services used during the billing cycle; includes any penalty from previous billing.
 Date Due: Date by which to pay bill to avoid penalty.
 Questions: Numbers to call if you have questions.
 Message Box: Location where monthly messages or announcements are made.
 Contributions: Place to add contribution for the Customer Assistance Program or Park/Library/Tree Fund.
 Services: Breakdown of charges for each utility service received.
 Pay Stations/Drop Box: Locations where you can pay bills or drop off payments.
