About the 2011 Austin Energy Annual Performance Report

In 2010, the Electric Utility Commission, members of the public, and City and Austin Energy staff began a year-long process to revise the Competitive Matters Resolution to increase transparency while protecting the utility.

City Council approved the resolution in March 2011.

The resolution stipulates that Austin Energy publish an Annual Performance Report to make information about the utility readily available to the public. It also stipulates that Austin Energy will provide data to indicate its performance in meeting Council-established goals, including climate protection.

The format and content of the initial report (Fiscal Year 2010) was determined by Austin Energy with input from the public and the Electric Utility Commission and approved by the Commission in June 2011.

Each year, Austin Energy will issue its preliminary report not less than 10 days before the Commission’s June meeting for public review and comment, and issue a final report for review and approval at the Commission’s July meeting.
