Austin Energy Crews To Assist Entergy

Austin Energy will assist Entergy with outage restoration in the Beaumont area.

The Utility will send 21 linemen, three supervisors and a mechanic as well as a full contingency of vehicles including seven bucket trucks, trucks that dig holes for pole placement, materials trucks that transport rolls of power lines and power poles. The AE crews will work in the Beaumont area for two weeks.

AE crews helped restore power in Louisiana following Katrina and in Florida and Alabama after hurricanes there last year.

The Austin Energy contingency will have the crews and the equipment needed to rebuild or repair power infrastructure in neighborhoods (called distribution) or power infrastructure that transports bulk power through and around a city or area (called transmission).

Austin Energy is part of a Mutual Assistance Compact of utilities across Texas and neighboring states.
