Austin Energy Green Building Program to offer Green Building Workshop for public

Austinites who are getting ready to build, buy or remodel can learn how to get the most for their money in a one-day workshop presented by the Austin Energy Green Building Program.

The workshop, "Green by Design", will cover topics such as making your new or existing home energy efficient; choosing durable, low-maintenance materials; installing a water wise landscape, choosing the right design for your lot; making the indoor environment healthier; and how to choose building professionals.

The workshop will be held Sat., March 23, 2002 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, 4801 La Crosse Ave.

For only $30 participants will receive a full day of instruction, a box lunch, and the interactive CD-ROM and workbook Green By Design. Staff members of Austin Energy's Green Building Program, all with many years of experience in homebuilding and remodeling, will lead the workshop.

Call CJ Boggs at (512) 505-3700 to register and make payment arrangements.
