National and Multi-State Initiatives
- Charge Point America — National program sponsored by Coulomb Technologies and funded by a DOE grant from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to provide charging stations to nine regions around the U.S. Includes Austin
- National Plug-In Vehicle Initiative — National project to bring together automakers, utilities, manufacturers, associations, and government entities to help them prepare for PEVs
- Plug In America — National coalition promoting battery and plug-in hybrid vehicles for the public
- Project Get Ready — National nonprofit entity managed by the Rocky Mountain Institute to help organizations and cities create customized EV readiness plans
- The EV Project — Multistate project supported by a Department of Energy (DOE) grant to support deployment of the Nissan LEAF and accompanying charging infrastructure in Arizona, California, Oregon, Tennessee, and Washington
Texas Initiatives
- Electric Vehicles North Texas — An initiative of the North Central Texas Council of Governments, a collaboration of utilities and local governments across 16 counties, to support EVs across the region
- Plug-In Texas — Statewide coalition to promote the use of EVs and the development of the EV industry in Texas
- Power of the Plug-In — Partnership of the City of Houston and Reliant Power to develop charging infrastructure
- San Antonio and Electric Vehicles — EV initiative housed in the city’s Office of Environmental Policy
U.S. State and City Initiatives
- Clean Transportation — San Diego Gas & Electric (SD&E) program to support EV charging. EV Project participant
- Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Project — Puget Sound, Washington, project to create model ordinances, development regulations, and guidance for local governments for siting and installing EV infrastructure, including charging stations. Partners include Puget Sound Regional Council, local governments, and others.
- Electric Vehicles — Seattle initiative to electrify elements of city’s public transit system. EV Project participant
- EV Road Map — Portland, Oregon, program that includes partners Portland State University, PG&E, and Oregon Transportation Research & Education Consortium to support development of the EV industry and infrastructure. EV Project participant
- Get Ready Central Florida — Central Florida program to support EV planning and infrastructure. This program supported the City of Orlando in developing the Zero Emission Mobility Project with Nissan to launch the sale and use of EVs in Central Florida
- Greater Kansas City Plug-In Readiness Initiative — Kansas City, Missouri, initiative sponsored by Mid America Regional Council and the Kansas City Regional Clean Cities Coalition to support the development and expansion of EVs in the region
- NC Get Ready! — Collaboration of Advanced Energy, Duke Energy, Progress Energy, the Rocky Mountain Institute, and others to develop charging infrastructure and facilitate the adoption of EVs in North Carolina
- Plug-In Carolina — South Carolina nonprofit that includes partners Duke Energy, SCE&G, Progress Energy, Santee Cooper, and the Piedmont Municipal Power Agency to help promote and roll out EVs and their infrastructure
International Initiatives
- Amsterdam Electric — Plan for City of Amsterdam charging infrastructure and incentives to promote EV deployment
- Fleetwise — Toronto, Ontario, program for pilot testing and broad deployment of EVs in Toronto
- Readiness Plan — Plan for City of London charging infrastructure and incentives to promote EV deployment
- Readiness Plan — Vancouver, BC, plan to develop EV infrastructure and promote EVs as one of the city’s overall sustainability initiatives
- U.S.-China Electric Vehicles Initiative — Joint initiative between China and the United States to develop the EV industry
