Request or Provide Account Information
Austin Energy has new policies in place that allow customers to:
- Release account information to another person
- Add a third party to their account
- Request past account records and public information
Release Account Information
Customers may now grant another person access to their City of Austin utility account. Under a new policy, customers can provide access to another person, such as a caregiver or parent, who is not living with them.

Add a Third Party
Another new policy also lets customers add a third party to their account. Third parties are usually spouses, domestic partners, or roommates financially responsible for the account.

We Need Your Information, Too
If your mailing address or phone number has changed, update your account with Online Customer Care. Be sure to include the following information:
- Name
- Account number
- Address on record
- Driver’s license number or last four digits of your social security number
If the account holder at your address has moved or, sadly, passed away, please call Customer Care at (512) 494-9400.
