Summer Utility Bill Assistance

The Summer Utility Bill Assistance program ended October 2009.

Here are some other ways to help you make payments:

Summer Disconnections
Austin Energy will now use heat index to determine whether to restart service on a delinquent account. We will resume service after a disconnection if the National Weather Service forecasts a heat index of 102° F or higher on back-to-back days. Service will resume on the second day of a 102° F heat index. If the heat index drops below 102° F, service may be disconnected again.

Previously, Austin Energy restarted service if the temperature was 100 degrees or more over several days. The heat index is considered a better gauge of heat impact.
