At Austin Energy we have a goal to
lead the industry in environmental stewardship and conservation
programs. Our employees take that commitment to the environment
very seriously. They develop award-winning conservation programs
for our commercial and residential customers. And, they also
find ways that they, as employees, can contribute.
Reducing Vehicle Use Improves
Air Quality More vehicles on the road equal more
vehicle emissions. To reduce emissions, our employees are
reducing their vehicle miles traveled (VMT) to work. Lowering
VMTs reduces vehicle emissions and improves air quality. Annually,
employee participation in workplace air quality programs saves
167,000 trips equaling 2 million VMTs.
